A manuscript evaluation takes in the​ 'big picture' of your book and/or story.

Big picture elements include:​

Structure
-
Pacing
-
Character Development
-
Perspective, Voice, and Tone
-
Clarity/Ambiguity
-
Narrative Arc
-
Narrative Flow
-
Genre Conventions
*Evaluation of such elements as structure, character development, narrative arc, and genre conventions is not possible for
partial manuscripts.
All manuscript pages submitted should use the following format:

12-point font

Times New Roman font
-
Double-spaced
-
1-inch margins all around

Partial
For a partial manuscript evaluation, you send 20-30 pages of your manuscript–approximately the first three chapters.

You will receive:
-
A 30-minute pre-evaluation call to discuss your goals and ideas for your book and establish a basis for the evaluation
​​
-
3-5 typed pages of notes and suggestions
​​
-
A 30-minute call or video chat during which you can ask any questions you have concerning the report.
​​
*The call should take place within the same week that you were sent the report.

Full
For a full manuscript evaluation, you send your entire manuscript, including the Table of Contents, Prologue, and Introduction, if you have them.
You will receive:

A 30-minute pre-evaluation call to discuss your goals and ideas for your book and establish a basis for the evaluation
​​
-
5-10 typed pages of notes and suggestions
​
-
A 60-minute call or video chat during which you can ask any questions you have concerning the report.
​
*The call should take place within the same week that you were sent the report.
